Reference Videos

How to choose and prepare reference videos for AI video generation in Larpable.

A reference video is a short clip that defines the motion for your generated video. Larpable takes the motion pattern from the reference video and applies it to your AI identity.

What Makes a Good Reference Video

  • Short duration — 5 to 10 seconds is ideal
  • Smooth, natural motion — avoid jerky or robotic movements
  • Good lighting on the person's face
  • Clear view of the person throughout the video
  • Simple backgrounds — complex scenes with occlusions are harder to reproduce

Types of Motion

Reference videos can show any motion you want your AI identity to perform:

  • Head turns and looking around
  • Walking or posing
  • Hand gestures and expressions
  • Smiling or changing expression

Uploading Reference Videos

On the canvas, add an Upload node and upload your reference video. The upload node will detect it as a video file. Connect it to the video generation node's video input.

Duration

When you upload a reference video, Larpable detects its duration. Video generation cost depends on duration — longer videos cost more credits.
