How to choose and prepare reference photos for your AI identity to get the best generation results.
Reference photos are the images you upload when creating an AI identity. They define your character's appearance and are used as the visual anchor for every generation.
How Many Photos to Use
Use 3–5 reference photos. More photos give the system more information about the face, but too many can dilute the reference. A balanced set of 3–5 photos is ideal.
Photo Quality Guidelines
Use high-resolution images — at least 512px on the longest side
Ensure good, even lighting — avoid harsh shadows or mixed light sources
Show the face clearly — no hands, objects, or hair covering the face
Use natural expressions — avoid forced smiles or unnatural poses
Avoid heavy filters, editing, or makeup that obscures natural features
Angles and Variety
Include photos from different angles:
At least one front-facing photo
One or two photos at a slight side angle
Optionally one profile photo
Photos with different expressions (neutral, smiling)
What to Avoid
Blurry or low-resolution photos
Photos with heavy Instagram-style filters
Photos where the face is partially hidden
Photos with extreme lighting (silhouettes, harsh shadows)
Photos where the person is very far from the camera
